2 De Mayo Festivities celebrate the Day of the Community of Madrid, in commemoration of the uprising of May 2, 1808, in which the people of Madrid confronted the French occupation in Spain.
A floral 2 (May is the month of flowers) that also refers to the May crosses and the Mayas. The characters represent the activities that take place during these festivities: music, exhibitions, dance, theater. They are gathered around the 2 that is as a stage for these events.
